Backflow Valve – Do You Have to Have One?

All commercials buildings  in NJ & NYC must have a backflow device on the incoming water main. A building that also houses other stores such as restaurants, dry cleaners, dentists, etc… need to have a backflow device in place. Backflow devices need to be installed by a licensed plumber. What is a Certified Backflow Tester?

Certified Backflow Testers are individuals who test backflow prevention devices for the purpose of protecting the public water supply. They are required to hold a valid certification issued pursuant to 10 NYCRR Section 5-1.31.
